i personally don’t take on interns for my blog, though i do know many bloggers that do, so it’s always a possibility! as far as internships at modcloth, we do hire them and you should always check the job listings for openings!
as far as advice, unfortunately, i’m not sure i’m the best person to ask. i actually started off as a pastry chef and cake decorator, then somehow managed to become a 5th grade art teacher before settling into my career in fashion, so i’ve never actually been an intern before. i’ve been told that internships are crucial for young students looking to start out, and that they are a great way to gain experience once you’re ready to enter the job market. i would just suggest you write up a list of all of the ideal places that you’d like to work and start applying to internships at all of them!
i can say from experience that i’ve grown awfully attached to some of the interns we’ve had at my work, and even if the internship doesn’t turn into a job right away, your hard work won’t be forgotten!
